Dragon Fli Empire - Calgary Folk Fest re-cap

Dragon Fli Empire had the amazing privilege of rocking at the 2009 Calgary Folk Festival this past weekend. The fun started out with our own set at Stage 3 on Saturday afternoon, where we got the crowd involved in a game of Calgary Jeopardy. Shortly after, we performed a workshop with PAPAGROOVE, Micheal Bernard Fitzgerald and Jason Wilson. The reggae/afrobeat/folk mixture with hip hop proved to be a rousing success as the entire tent rocked out to the positive vibes. On Sunday, we entertained the volunteers with a solo performance at the hospitality area. After that came the killer collaboration with DFE, Arrested Development, Kid Koala and Mutabaruka. It was possibly the best-attended side stage show in the history of the festival, with some estimates pegging the crowd as high as 6000 people. We will have more glimpses of this incredible experience available in the future, but for now you can just check out this interview we did with FFWD right after the show.

Shadez of Brooklyn - Change (Audio)
Some under-the-radar 90s NYC hip hop, most famous for being on DJ Premier's 1998 "New York Reality Check 101" compilation. Nice working of the Ahmad Jamal on this one.
Pac Div - Church League Champions (free 99)

LA hip hop trio Pac Div return with their new mixtape "Church League Champions". Really feeling the track "Pac Div". Download it here.

DFE vinyl on the way!
Kardinal Offishall - On With The Show (Audio)
This is the version that I first heard of this track in the late 90's with the mighty Sauks on the hook. BTW, Kardi's in town tonight at Flames Central. He probably won't rock this song, but he always brings mad energy and 'dangerous' synchronized dance moves.
